With each new essay I am amazed at how you are so beautifully able to articulate your story and bring out beliefs buried inside myself that lie beneath the surface unrealized. These essay's are such a wonderful pointing to help me see things about myself I need to investigate. You are such a blessing.

This: "The ceremonies were not easy; they asked everything of me, to feel abandonment, loneliness, rejection, in their rawest, most primal forms, without escaping, without numbing, without fleeing into story or blame, and in doing so, they offered a kind of peace that words and therapy alone could not reach, a peace born of immersion rather than evasion." I feel exactly the same, but could never express it better🧚🏼‍♀️

All of it, Charlie Finn, all of it. You stirred a memory, you softened a sorrow, and, as always, your words offered a moment of companionship. We discussed this subject earlier, but your prose brought it truly home. You are an artist, painting a lovely, lovely picture with your words. But it's not abstract painting. You continue to make an impression with your philosophic musings, so therefore you are an impressionist. In my very humble opinion.

God, I'd love to sit down with you over a coffee, one day, and the jungle does call to me, every day. But my travels the last few years have been solely tropics and precipitation, and therefore, like Lawrence, the desert calls me. Therefore, this year, I'm off to Jordan and then down the Nile.

Again, thank you for allowing me to share your vision....
